Pregnant, pregnant, pregnant.....

Should I really get pregnant now? That is the question that I have in my mind after talking to my friend yesterday. Many of my friends have encouraged me to get pregnant as soon as possible after married. Mainly is because of my age and since I am not working now so might as well get pregnant.

Based on an article written by Dr. Mary Kittel, women has 6 reproductive stages which are at the age of 20, 20-38, 38-42, 42-46, 46-50 and 50+. Because I am at the age group between 20-38 so I wish to share more on it. If you are from different age group and wish to know more about yourselve, you may consider reading the book "Stay Fertile Longer". I am at middle reproductive stage. The first 7 years of middle reproductive stage is the peak fertility time, then the 1st slight fertility decline happens in the next 3 years and followed by 2nd fertility decline around age 35. Therefore, I think I am experiencing the 1st slight decline in feritiliy now without realising it.

I am not sure whether I should be panic because of the decline of fertility. However, I think getting pregnant is not because everyone else at my age is getting pregnant and having a baby or because others think that I should get pregnant. I believe that baby is the most wonderful gift from God so I think we should really take it seriously. I think we need to be ready to get pregnant for pregnancy is never easy. I think we need to be even more ready for taking care of a baby as it is thousand times tougher than pregnancy. Raising a child, love them, educate them and spending precious time with them is a life long responsibility and it is me and my beloved husband's responsibility but not others.

Nevertheless, this is just my personal opinion. God always has His timing for everything.

New Experience in Life

Based on National Statistic Online, the unemployment rate in UK for the 3 months to April 2010 is 7.9%. The number of unemployed people has reached 2.47million. The number of full-time worker has fell by 56,000 over the quarter but the number of part time worker has increased by 61,000 because most people is unable to get a permanent job. The inactivity rate for 3 months to April is 21.5% .

This is a country with a standard procedures for everything. I saw a job post from an agent yesterday. It is a temporary job but the employer is looking for a qualified accountant. Therefore, I called the agent to check whether it is fine for me to send in the application as I am part qualified but at the final stage of the professional qualification. The agent told me no as they only recruit qualified accountant. With her saying that, I asked further whether I can register with them and the reply is no partly is because of my VISA that is expired next year end. She said that they only have permanent jobs. Did I not just mention that the job I saw is a temporary job?

Another story is about my friend. She is a local and a university graduate. She has been looking for a job for a period of time. We went to agents and tried to get ourselves registered during March. 3 out 5 agents told my friend that they are not able to help her because of she doesn't have office working experience. Some asked her to go back and work as retail assistant since she has such experience. My mouth is wide open when I heard this as I totally couldn't believe what I have heard.

Now I understand the reason people become depress, low self-esteem and even commit suicide due to they couldn't find a job. I still remember the news of a girl in UK commited suicide not long ago after being unemployed for some time.

Since the unemployment rate is so high , the agent actually plays a very important role in getting the unemployed people jobs. As I have mentioned earlier, this is a country with a standard procedures for everything, most of the employers are engaging the agents for hiring. Therefore, if the agent could be a little bit more flexible and the most important thing is the willingness to help the candidates, things might be better.

This is just a personal experience as different people may have different encounters in life. However, giving up life is not a way to overcome problems in life since life is never without problems. 1 of many ways is constant sharing and spending time with friends and family. If you asked me, I will say believe in God and He will have His ways.
